The bad weather continues and we keep pushing on!
Today the tables were turned and we had to dodge between showers to catch some way over the top wind to get some practice in.
The idea was to try side to side control and identifying the various positions of the wing and how to get to and from. Didn't end up working out as a lot of practise for Gemma as it got too strong even for with the Seed.

Big thanks to everyone at SkySchool for teaching us how to fly Paramotors
https://www.skyschooluk.com/
As the fog lifted and the sun started coming through on the last day of our course I couldn't help but try to get up there.
What a magical flight, and the whole reason why I wanted to fly paramotors was to be able to do flights like this.
A bit thank you again goes out to SkySchool and we hope we'll be able to fly more paramotors in the future.

Taking off and Landing are the two most crucial phases of aviation, and although we can do a lot of practice in pretend takeoffs, there is no practical way to train landings without flying.
So an intermediate step is to go up towed by a rope so that ppg students can practice what it feels like coming in for a landing as well as the timing and inputs of the landing flare.

I was sewing a project using my mom's vintage Singer 354 Starlet when I heard a terrible noise. Upon inspection, the teeth of one of the main gears had been stripped.
A few months later I managed to get a replacement gear only to discover I would have to pretty much tear down the whole machine to change it.
I took this opportunity to really disassemble the whole sewing machine and give it a good overall maintenance.
It all went back together fine and it's working again, but it took me about a week to complete the whole thing. Hope you enjoyed the process.

Check out our Paragliding Tshirts :D
https://teespring.com/stores/andre-bandarra
Making the jump from paper to cloth is not easy! From handling the sewing machine, to chosing the cloth, line, all the settings, the design, patterns and then bringing it all together... I'm glad we chose an easy project to start with :)
A lot of fun, some experimentation and quite a bit of learning. We mostly learnt that we don't know a lot of stuff! :D

In October 2016 João Brum flew 318km with his BGD Cure in Quixadá as part of a group of friends that have broken many other records in the Brazilian Sertão.
This is a short interview with João in which not only we cover the flight but also what it was like to learn to fly paragliders in the 90's, some amazing stories of "back in the day" as well as key preparation to fly long distances in Brazil.

It took me about 40 hours all together to put these 40minutes of interview together but was so worth it! Hope you enjoy it and if you do, don't forget to subscribe as it really helps :)

Théo de Blic's tutorials is a free web serie where I give a few usefull tips on various aspect of paragliding. The tips I give are coming from an already long career as a professional pilot in acro paragliding.
Since the beginning of the tutorial series I have been asked to do a SAT tutorial, it has taken me many years but here we go, here is the how to do a sat tutorial.
In this tutorial I am going through the method to do sat as well as the common mistakes and possible issues you might encounter.
BE CAREFUL : Some gliders do not do SAT, the outside tip refuses to stay inflated. It is not dangerous at all but it is not working beautifully.
Afraid to learn it on your own ? Check our school at www.riseparagliding.com to learn with me.

This incredibly safe and solid wing is designed for all levels of student training from first flights to soaring, top landing, thermalling and qualification. Based on what we have learned during fifteen years of basic and student wing R&D. The Atom 3 may be one of the safest and simplest-to-use wings that we have ever flown, but it is complex in its simplicity. A serious amount of design research and testing has been invested into this new wing and after what has been an extensive beta phase of testing, we are very happy with the results. The Atom 3 is sure to become a favourite with instructors and students alike - we believe there is no better wing to learn with.

The Genie Race 4 was the winning harness in the World Cup Superfinal 2017. It’s a harness for serious competition and XC pilots who seek the ultimate in performance.

STABLE, LIGHT, COMPACT
The Gingo Airlite is a lightweight airbag harness for beginners and leisure pilots. At under 3kg, it's one of the lightest, most compact and most aerodynamic harnesses of its type.
The 4th generation Gingo Airlite builds on the success of its predecessor, yet offers significant improvements:
- more stable in all axes
- more precise control of your glider
- easier to get in on take-off
- more aerodynamic and easier to pack due to the thinner profile
