Sewing is really accessible to everyone, so since we're all indoors how about trying some? Ultimately this is how paragliders are made so I'm always surprised at how few people sew in the paragliding community.

In this video we try our hand at some simple mini windsocks and turns out it's fairly easy and take the opportunity to look at how a sewing machine works.

In diesem Online-Vortrag spricht Théo de Blic über die wichtigsten Dinge, die man wissen sollte, wenn man mal seinen Rettungsschirm werfen muss. Vor allem erklärt er WARUM, WANN und WIE man ihn werfen soll. Außerdem berichtet er von seinen persönlichen Erfahrungen mit verschiedenen Rettungsschirmkonzepten und erklärt anhand von Videobeispielen, was passierte und wie er reagierte. Theo präsentiert auf Englisch, aber es ist einfach, ihn zu verstehen.
Théo de Blic ist dreimaliger Akro-Gleitschirm-Weltmeister (2015 Synchro, 2017, 2019) sowie dreimaliger Acro-Game-Champion. Der NOVA-Markenbotschafter wird 2021 unbekanntes Terrain betreten und an den Red Bull X-Alps 2021 teilnehmen.

The “NOVA Insights” are a series of lectures, discussions, workshops, etc. They take place online and are aimed at ALL paraglider pilots - no matter what brand of wing they fly. The Insights are no marketing yada yada, they are about sharing knowledge and experience, and above all about "making you want to fly". The NOVA Insights last about one hour each. It is explicitly desired that the audience join in and ask questions.
Die „NOVA Insights“ sind eine Serie von Vorträgen, Diskussionen, Workshops usw. Sie finden online statt und richten sich an ALLE Gleitschirmflieger – egal, welche Schirmmarke sie fliegen. Hier geht es nicht um Marketing, sondern um Wissens- und Erfahrungsvermittlung sowie vor allem um das „Lustaufsfliegenmachen“. Die NOVA Insights dauern jeweils ca. eine Stunde. Es ist explizit erwünscht, dass die Zuhörer mitmachen und Fragen stellen.

The HELI TO SAT is the first connection I really mastered. It's pretty basic. It is a Helicopter that shoots sideways and connects into a Sat. It's a really nice trick to connect into other tricks because you have a lot of energy afterwards!
The SAT was invented by Raul Rodriguez around 1999 and it was the very first acro trick at all. The Sat is where it all started! The trick in itself is not used so much anymore but it is the trick that connects everything. The Sat movement is also the one that initiates Infinity Tumbling.
The SAT TO HELI is the opposite of the Helico to Sat. You start into a Sat, spin it and connect into a Helicopter. It was one of my favourite tricks for a long time and also the one trick I used when I started competing. It’s kind of my signature trick.

Theos Trick der Woche #5: HELI TO SAT - SAT - SAT TO HELI

Der HELI TO SAT war die erste Verbindung von Flugmanövern, die ich wirklich beherrschte. Sie ist ziemlich einfach. Es ist ein HELI, der seitwärts schießt und in einen SAT übergeht. Es ist ein wirklich schöner Trick, um ihn mit anderen Tricks zu verbinden, weil man danach viel Energie hat!
Mit dem SAT hat alles angefangen! Er wurde von Raul Rodriguez um 1999 erfunden und war der erste Acro-Trick überhaupt. Der Trick an sich wird nicht mehr so oft verwendet, aber es ist ein Manöver, das alles miteinander verbindet. Die SAT-Bewegung ist auch diejenige, die das Infinity Tumbling einleitet.
Der SAT TO HELI ist das Gegenteil des Heli to Sat: Man startet in einen SAT, dreht ihn und geht dann in einen Heli über. Das war lange Zeit einer meiner Lieblingstricks und auch der Trick, den ich benutzte, als ich anfing, an Wettbewerben teilzunehmen. Er ist sozusagen mein Markenzeichen-Trick.
