The M6 is an evolution of the LM5, the wing which swept the top 5 spots of the 2013 X-Alps Race and took Chrigel to goal in record time. Over the course of our testing and development, we have taken the 3-line concept to its absolute maximum, incorporating the best design elements of the LM5 whilst increasing the number of cells, modifying the planform and optimising the line plan. Fifteen years of lightweight R&D has allowed us to apply some exciting new construction and design technology to our range of light wings, and the Wisp benefits from much of the same features found in our high-performance adventure wings. With an optimised cell-count and carefully chosen profile, the Wisp is aerodynamically clean and structurally stable. The reduced sail drag, optimised line layout, and low overall line consumption all combine to increase performance without compromising safety and ease of use.

I've had the chance to attend a talk by Hannes Papesh on paraglider design which was put together with the help of Carlo from Flybubble and Becca from DSC, my big thanks to all 3 of them!
Even though it's just marketing ;) it's still hard to find a wing designer that will openly talk about their process and findings so I couldn't miss this talk.
This is only an excerpt of the talk as it was 3-4 hours in total, but focuses on the design part of it.
If there is some interest and time available I might release other parts of the talk.

We hiked up to the Seiser Alm with our Red Bull X-Alps athlete Tobi Grossrubatscher (Team: ITA2) and asked a few things about this years race and how he got into paragliding. 2019 will be Tobis second X-Alps appearance. Croaky voice and went to fly Bradwell, only to get there and realise I forgot the osmo clamp!

Since I've knitted a hat by hand I've been fascinated with the hand crank knitting machines (Addi style) that you find on youtube tutorials.
So as a bit of fun I decided to try to design my own. This quickly turned into a full blown R&D project and consumed a lot of time and resources.
It was really fun to figure it all out even though in the end it didn't quite fully work.
I'll revisit it in the future when I have some more time as I have a couple of ideas on how to not only make it work but maybe improve the current state-of-the art :)
