Gemma has always been wary of flying when there are lots of other pilots around, as she's scared of making a wrong move and causing an accident.

Like so many of you at the moment, we haven't flown in over a month, but we managed to put together this video from when Gemma asked Andre to come up with some simple tips on flying safely when the ridge gets busier.

Hopefully, it won't be much longer before we can get back out there, and fly together again!

Talking about Matt Wilkes´reserve repack studies got us seriously considering our safety in paragliding, and how well we know our reserve parachutes. We were ashamed to realise that our reserves were well overdue for a repack, and we wanted to get more comfortable with the procedure - and doing it REGULARLY.
So, we threw and repacked our reserve parachutes a bunch of times, and learnt a lot in the process...including making our own accessories.

Sometimes the right day just comes along :)
It was a bit too weak at first but then the wind picked up just enough to make lauching and staying up easy.

Gemma launched, I launched too and took the osmo with me. These buttery smooth shots to me really convey what flying feels like for me.
It was a great half an hour of smooth sailing together and just soaking it all in. Perfect.

There wasn't a lot of light so the images aren't very crisp but still find it mesmerizing to watch how paragliders twist and turn, fill up and collapse in slow motion.

It was a very tricky day, was way too windy to ground handle and we were in the lee of trees. That made windspeed a bit lower but very turbulent indeed making for some very interesting shapes.
