More safety. The SOMNIUM is fitted with an innovative Hybrid Protector. When the harness is taken out of the bag the foam begins to expand. Once in the air, the foam protection is augmented by an airbag. This cushion of air not only supports the pelvic area - but protects the whole back. In its class, the SOMNIUM offers a unique level of passive safety.

More performance. The SOMNIUM is fitted with Split Loops. This ensures a comfortable seating position and simultaneously improves the performance of the wing during glides - the tendency to roll is damped and this has a positive impact on your glide ratio, especially in turbulent air. The streamlined design and slender pod underline this performance potential.

Less weight. Small packing size, little weight: due to its Hybrid Protection, the SOMNIUM can be packed small and at 3.7kg (size S) is extraordinarily light - without compromising on passive safety. The foam protector can be highly compressed and apart from the material, the airbag packs down to nothing. The SOMNIUM offers the complete package of performance, safety and little weight.

A fresh breeze for the EN A class

The NOVA AONIC is a high-end EN A glider with 49 cells and a flat aspect ratio of 5.17. It offers the high passive safety of an EN A glider (fully suitable for instruction) in combination with a pinch of agility and speed, as well as the performance of an EN B wing. Newcomers to paragliding will find it a wing that can accompany them all the way their first 200 km+ FAI triangles. Experienced pilots will find it totally confidence-inspiring, without hardly any loss of performance or flying fun.

NOVA ION 6 (EN B paraglider) – Adventure awaits

For nearly a decade the NOVA ION has represented something like the Swiss Army Knife or the VW Golf amongst paragliders: you can do “everything” with it and very few people actually need “more”. The spectrum ranges from relaxed local soaring to a 200+ km FAI triangle - and all this with a very high degree of passive safety and relatively low demands on the pilot. With the newest generation of the ION 6, this has not changed.

Despite this, it is a completely new design: The ION 6 has a higher projected aspect ratio than its predecessor, less curvature and shorter lines. Also, for the first time we have equipped an ION with
– performance-enhancing Mini-ribs
– Zig-Zag 3D-shaping
– a Mini-Rib Vector Tape as well as
– optimised wing twist in accelerated flight.
This leads a clear increase in performance, which is highly accessible to an extremely wide range of pilots happy, remains the same..

Seit rund einem Jahrzehnt stellt der NOVA ION so etwas dar wie das Schweizer Taschenmesser oder den VW Golf unter den Gleitschirmen: Man kann „alles“ damit machen und „mehr“ braucht eigentlich kaum jemand. Vom entspannten Cruisen am Hausberg bis hin zum FAI-Dreieck von 200+ km reicht das Spektrum – und das alles mit einem sehr hohen Maß an passiver Sicherheit und relativ geringem Anspruch an den Piloten. Mit der neuesten Generation ION 6, hat sich daran nichts geändert.

The Prologue is an important event for the Red Bull X-Alps athletes which takes place in Wagrain Kleinarl (Salzburg) a few days before the official race start at Salzburg city. The first three to finish win an additional Night Pass which allows them to skip another mandatory night rest. Time penalties will also be distributed. The event is the perfect warm-up for the X-Alps. Moreover, there is definitely no lack of motivation and fun.

Der Prolog ist ein wichtiges Ereignis für die Red Bull X-Alps Athleten, das in Wagrain Kleinarl (Salzburg) ein paar Tage vor dem offiziellen Rennstart in Salzburg stattfindet. Die ersten drei im Ziel gewinnen einen zusätzlichen Night Pass, der es ihnen erlaubt, eine weitere verpflichtende Nachtruhe auszulassen. Es werden auch Zeitstrafen verteilt. Das Event ist das perfekte Warm-Up für die X-Alps. Außerdem fehlt es eindeutig nicht an Motivation und guter Laune.

Decelerating the accelerator: the innovative NOVA Speedbrake Riser

The NOVA Speedbrake Riser is the first three-liner riser which permits the glider to be accelerated as well as decelerated. It brings an end to pulling the C-lines, which killed performance.

Admittedly, we are not and have never been fans of the C-handle, which allows dive and directional control. Pulling the C-lines on a three-liner results in a deep crease, which markedly affects performance.

We developed the NOVA Speedbrake Riser in conjunction with our team pilot Robert Schaller, an applied science student and enthusiastic cross-country pilot. The B and C risers are connected using a flexible strap. If the C-risers are pulled back, the B-risers are also reduced in length.

The result is a perfect, crease-free deceleration. The Speedbrake Riser provides new possibilities for performance-orientated XC-pilots!

The DOUBLESKIN is a minimalistic hike & fly paraglider. With 2.1 kg at size 17, it is the lightest wing in the world with top and under surface (by same flat surface area, with EN-certification, with the Ultralight Riser; as: 06/19). It packs very small and is a delight in the air thanks to better aerodynamics compared to a single-surface wing. With the DOUBLESKIN walking up is as enjoyable as flying and landing!
