I love the BGD Seed. It's a scaled down Epic and was designed as a groundhandling wing but built well like any other BGD wing.
So, since I've groundhandled it for over 100 hours and in that time had the chance to have little hops that turned into little flights getting progressively bigger, as the wind was right I thought it was good opportunity to try and actually soar it.
I've done it before, but not on camera, and because it's small and the lines are short, it is super agile. Flies fast (I'm 90kg and it is 14sqmt) and rolls and dives a lot when turning, even with very light input, making it mega fun to fly.
It was quite easy to top land with it. It carries a lot of energy through the turn, meaning you will lose height when it dives to turn but you do recover most of it as you come out of the turn.
I've landed it before in near nil wind and it flares fine, and on this day there was a lot more wind that than so landing was super smooth and pretty much came down vertical.
All in all a really fun experience! Might need to get a proper speed wing :)

This time we went to the south side of Foz do Arelho to practise some dune hopping.
It's a super fun and safe place to do it and we love it.
Gemma found that there's a big difference between groundhandling on the flat or on a hill. Some of the wind and physics are a bit different but also for sure some of it is a change in mindset.
All in all a good session but as always, more practice needed.

The bad weather continues and today we got up at 7am as that was the only weather window where it might be groundhandleable with a full size wing.
Gemma is clearly a lot better at not over-reacting on the brakes, digging her heels in and making the best of tough conditions!
We also had a strange but nice visit from the Maritime Police!

Passive chasecams wobble quite a bit and 3axis gimbals are a bit too expensive and fragile so I thought I would build a prototype of a chasecam that would be mechanically stabilized using an IMU and some servos connected to control surfaces whilst still being rugged.
Worked kind of ok but to test it I would need to build one lighter, with a lot more drag and perhaps software that is more easily customizable. Still fun though :)

We had some extra footage from the stalls video that would have made it way too long. But we liked it so much that we decided to do another video with it.
I think it really captures well what freeflight is all about, being at one with nature, minimal kit, and surfing the air waves up and down with the birds. Just amazing.
Also, did I mention that the Lynx gliders for ever?! :D

I've been wanting to try silk screen printing for a while.
I made some frames and stretched silk screen over it. Didn't try to make it pretty or anything as these were just tests.
I borrowed the photo emulsion from a friend and tried a few different ways without much success. After a few tries and with some fresh emulsion finally got something half decent.
With this working screen I've printed a few sheets and worked ok but did reveal the flaws in the screen.
These tests were mainly for me to see what I can do with screen printing and maybe being able to print onto fabric in the future.

Sau đây là video cận cảnh phi công người Nga chơi môn thể thao mạo hiểm Dù Lượn tại điểm bay dù lượn trên đèo Khau Phạ thuộc tỉnh Yên Bái, Việt Nam vào ngày 30/05/2020 vừa qua.

Dù lượn, tiếng Anh gọi là Paragliding, là một môn thể thao hàng không giải trí nhưng cũng không kém phần cạnh tranh mang tính chuyên nghiệp.
Dù lượn là hình thức bay tự do, cất cánh bằng chân. Phi công ngồi vào một ghế ngồi được may bằng những dây đai bền chắc (đai ngồi) bên dưới một cánh dù làm bằng vải, được bơm căng đầy không khí để giữ hình dáng khí động học nhờ vào áp lực không khí khi dù di chuyển tràn vào các "xoang dù".
