In their backpacks: Our CUMEO, the RANGE X-ALPS2 AV and some nice camera gear including a drone.

The result came out to be awesome despite the bad weather conditions.

Every competition requires preparation. The tougher the competition, the harder the training. For skywalk x @SALEWA x @Suunto athlete Paul Guschlbauer (@Paul Guschlbauer ) it is even more delicate, as training time has to be in balance with his family life. To prepare for @Red Bull X-Alps Paul likes to involve his favorite activities in his training such as bike rides to improve endurance, trailrunning to enhance balance, and of course a lot of hiking and flying.

The right nutrition is of course crucial for the performance as well, as the athletes need to replenish the calories spent in the race in a fast and efficient way.

Because after all that‘s how you make sure to be the best version of yourself: by staying fit, eating healthy and sleeping well!

Our glider for performance-driven XC pilots, who prefer to set their turning points off the beaten path, is so light that you won’t need a cable car when your big day comes. The lightweight materials of Porcher Marine are applied to reduce weight only in areas not felt by the XC pilot. That is why the CUMEO is just as solid in the air as its “heavy” brother and has the same balanced characteristics. You’ll feel the difference – in the backpack on the way to launch or in the baggage net of the train on the long way back from your epic flight.

However, competing in the toughest adventure race of the world, the @Red Bull X-Alps , for the first time is surely nerve-jangling - No matter how experienced you are. That‘s why Tommy‘s plan is to split the different chapters of the race into smaller steps and focus on the present, rather than looking at the race as one big bite.
